How it works
Every book earns its way onto the shelf. You decide twice: once with a heart, once with a purchase.
How a book gets made
- 1
Idea
We share a cover, a short pitch and a few sample pages. Give it a heart if you'd want it on your shelf. A heart is free: no account, no payment.
- 2
Draft Edition
Ideas that reach their goal become a complete Draft Edition. We make it with AI tools, then a person rewrites and edits every page, checks every fact and reviews every picture before it's posted. It's clearly labeled, priced low, and yours to keep.
- 3
Studio
When a Draft Edition reaches its sales goal, a human illustrator draws every page from scratch and we rewrite the story with your notes. Everyone who bought the Draft Edition gets the illustrated edition free.
- 4
On shelves
The illustrated edition is printed and for sale. Founding Readers who helped are thanked by name in the back of the book (with their permission).
The goals
How we use AI
AI is a tool in our workshop, never the author. Here's how every Idea and Draft Edition is made:
- A person chooses the idea, writes the outline and decides what every page needs to say and show.
- AI tools help draft the words and pictures quickly.
- A person rewrites and edits every page, checks every fact against reliable sources, and reviews every picture, redoing any that are wrong or confusing.
- Nothing is posted automatically. A person approves every page before anyone sees it.
- Every AI-made edition is labeled, and its page says who checked it and when.
If a book reaches its goal, a human illustrator draws all-new art and the story is rewritten with your notes. We'll always tell you how a book was made.
Buy the draft, get the real thing free.
Every Draft Edition comes with a promise. If the book reaches its goal, a human illustrator makes it for real, and everyone who bought the draft gets the illustrated edition free, in the same format they bought. Early readers never pay twice.
